Refurbishment FAQs
We have taken your questions about the upcoming refurbishments and S1 2026 re-signs on onboard and answered as many as we can here. If your question is not here, don’t be shy, come and ask us. We want you to have as much information as possible to help you decide what will be best for you over this period.
If I re-apply, will I get to stay in my current room?
If this is your preference, we encourage you to re-apply before 1 October 2025. Once we receive your application, we will send out your new offer which you will need to accept. Please also come and see us at the front to let us know this is your preference.
Will you be offering any reimbursements?
You will receive a rent reduction for each night your room is impacted by the refurbishments.
Are shared apartments affected? If so, how?
Yes, shared apartments are affected. While they are not being upgraded, there will be limited access to these apartments while the corridors are being refurbished.
Can I leave my belongings in my room and re-check in from next semester?
If you would like Iglu to store your belongings while you are away, you can choose to renew your contract on either a 12-month or 6-month term. We will provide moving boxes, and your items will be stored securely during this time.
Please note: by selecting this storage option, you agree to be away for the entire renovation period (10 December 2025 – 17 February 2026). No alternative accommodation will be provided if you decide to stay during this time.
I would like to organise my own storage, can you recommend somewhere local?
We can recommend contacting Kennards Self Storage in Ultimo.
